Select Paint & Finishes was hired by a general contracting firm to complete the fabrication and installation of a 40,000 square foot worker access platform to allow all trades to gain access to the roof truss system located 90 feet in the air. Select Paint’s scope also included the installation of a Class A lead containment and the sandblasting of all structural steel. Select Paint applied a three coat, zinc, epoxy and urethane paint system to the structural steel. This project is a part of the MBTA’s $64.3 million renovation of the Braintree and Quincy Adams garages to allow for safer, more accessible parking spots and pedestrian routes to and from the stations; a 40-year extended service life for reduced maintenance costs and service impacts; better parking amenities and wider spots; and an improved rider experience and safety.
