Sarah brings 19 years of construction marketing and business development experience to Select Paint & Finishes. As Business Development Director, she wears many “hats” as she is responsible for the company’s overall marketing, website redevelopment, public relations, online branding, social media networking, in-house pre-qualification system, networking events, charitable portfolio and commitments, and client relations. She has a strong presence on a multitude of social media platforms, and she feels as though it is a successful and creative way to market a company. Sarah truly enjoys collaborating with her coworkers to position and grow the Select Group of Companies as leaders amongst specialty contractors in the New England construction industry. She has worked extensively with owners, environmental consulting firms, general contractors, construction managers, city and state agencies, utility firms, hospitals and educational institutions on numerous building and heavy-civil projects ranging in size from $10,000 - $50 million. She is currently a Manager on the Boston Muscle Team Charity Event in Boston. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University in Public Policy and Environmental Science.
Brendt Gonsalves brings over 36 years of industry experience to The Select Group of Companies. Brendt attended vocational school as a teen where he learned carpentry and the theoretical concepts associated with residential construction. He later moved to heavy bridge construction where he performed demolition, excavation and concrete form work while completing his degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Brendt's hands-on skill and big picture understanding successfully guided him as Superintendent and later as a Senior Project Manager during his 22 years in the general contracting field. His work has been expansive, with an extensive focus on specialty labs (BSL 3 & 4 and Life Science), high rise construction, airport work, self-performed concrete and many other complex projects.
Brendt adeptly wears many hats as he oversees the six individual companies that make up The Select Group of Companies. His role includes handling daily operations oversight, facilitating executive and operations meetings, as well as long term business planning to align with company goals for each individual entity. Brendt is responsible for monthly requisition reviews and overview of monthly costs reports in conjunction with accounting. His work also includes interface with Human Resources, IT and insurance groups, as well as direct client service.
Chris oversees all corporate accounting operations and financial management functions for Select Paint & Finishes. He brings with him 20 years of experience in the accounting and finance fields. Chris provides overall direction and leadership with respect to all financial operations within the company including financial projections, banking, tax preparation and compliance, insurance, bonding, outside legal counsel and audit related areas. Chris is an integral component to the financial growth and management of Select Paint & Finishes. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University.
Katie Durant has been with the Select Group of Companies team for over three years where she started in the Accounting Department. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, she quickly moved into the purchasing realm and now is the Project Coordinator for Select Paint and Finishes. She is detail oriented, prides herself on communication and loves a challenge. Katie has been involved with sports her whole life and likes to bring the mentality that a TEAM effort is a major key to success for any company.
Simon Thibeault brings over 20 years of experience in construction to Select Paint & Finishes. Prior to working here, he owned and managed a residential and commercial roofing company. As a Project Manager and Estimator, he prepares estimates and proposals and manages projects ranging in size from $5,000 - $5,000,000. Simon works closely with clients and vendors to ensure his projects are completed on time, under budget and with no issues. He prides himself in client relations and hard work.
David has been involved in the painting industry for over eight years now. Starting from the ground up as an apprentice, David completed three years of apprenticeship training for the District Council 35 Painters Union. While in school, he completed over 20 training courses and broadened his skills into wallcovering and woodwork. With this knowledge and experience, David quickly progressed in the painting industry starting as a field painter to eventually becoming a journeyman. Always wanting to advance, he took the next step and decided to follow in his father’s footsteps to become an Estimator/Project Manager for Select Paint and Finishes. For the past year he has estimated and managed numerous projects in the City of Boston and has taken great pride in developing relationships with clients and overseeing successful projects. For David the Select Paint Team has been the most ambitious and dynamic team he’s ever been a part of. “I want to continue to improve and learn something new every day in this business. Client relations and managing a stress-free project is my main goal.”
As a graduate in Construction Management from the University of New Hampshire, Bill brings 20 years of experience in the commercial painting industry to Select Paint & Finishes. He started working in the painting industry when he was in college and after graduation, he accepted a full-time position with Paint Systems of New England (former name of Select Paint & Finishes). Bill has successfully estimated and project managed an extensive list of public and private sector projects of all sizes and scopes. He prides himself on hard work and client relations. During his free time, you can find Bill camping, ATVing or in his backyard grilling for friends and family.
Mike Tufts is the Vice President of Select Paint and Finishes. He brings over 30 years of experience in the painting industry. He commenced his career working in the field as a top Foreman for one of the largest paint companies in New England. After years of service and dedication, Mike was brought into the office as an Estimator and Project Manager, where he excelled from his extensive field knowledge. He has never turned down a challenge, loves to compete and continues to express a strong team attitude and open door policy. Mike attributes his success to his mentors and is very thankful for them. He is always willing to teach and hopes he has that same effect on those working around him today, including his son who is following in his footsteps from the field to the office. Mike is never at a loss for words, loves to talk “paint” and is known for his quick wit and humor. Mike’s favorite’s quote is “It’s not easy being the low bidder.”
Ryan has been involved in the painting industry since he was 15 years old and has been a part of the Select/Marquis family since 2013. Starting out selling tools, hardware, and paint at Sears Roebuck in high school, he used that experience to work his way through school at Florida State University at various paint and decorating retailers. Shortly after relocating to Boston, he worked for an established commercial paint supplier, where he met many of his future teammates at Select Paint and Finishes. After servicing and building relationships with some of the best painting contractors in Boston, Ryan eventually progressed from the retail side of the painting industry to estimating and managing paint projects. Ryan’s experience working with homeowners and designers in the planning and execution of their projects has given him the skillset to properly plan, estimate and execute some of the most complex and highest profile projects in the Boston area. “Relationships have always been the most important thing to me throughout my career in the construction industry. The fact that everyone that I am working with on a project is considered a teammate is critical. I will make sure that I will do absolutely whatever it takes to make sure that their project a complete success.”
Tom brings over 30 years of construction experience to Select Paint & Finishes with a focus on abrasive blasting and industrial painting. He started his career in the early 1990’s where is managed one of the largest abatement and commercial painting firms in the United States performing many high profile projects up and down the East Coast, most notably the U.S. Capitol Dome Restoration in Washington, DC, the Dewey Square Tunnel Rehabilitation in Boston, MA and the WMATA Tunnels Rehabilitation in Washington, DC. Tom specializes in the fabrication and installation of intricate platform and scaffolding systems that are often required on many of his industrial blasting and painting projects. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
Sebastien brings 19 years of health and safety experience to Select Paint & Finishes. Sebastien has extensive experience working in and managing Health & Safety Departments, especially in the construction industry. At Select Paint, Sebastien manages a Safety Team of five Advisors, conducts project pre-planning, provides submittal items, performs weekly to full time safety monitoring and leads training for large crews of laborers and operators. Sebastien holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from SUNY Albany.
